Here are a few ways to help students get ready for online classes with Zoho Meeting.
Check System Requirements
Pre-requisites: Zoho Meeting works with all modern browsers, operating systems, and mobile devices. Refer to the system requirements help page for details on supported browsers, compatible operating Systems, internet speed, and more.
WiFi connection
Set up your device near the WiFi router or access point for better connection at home.
Set up learning space
A learning space, such as a desk in a bedroom or living room, should be consistent with where schoolwork is done. This space should be comfortable, accessible during the school day, and relatively free of distractions.
How to join a class as a student?
Students can join meetings using joining links or meeting keys shared by the teacher via email or messaging apps. They can join meetings from web browsers, the Zoho Meeting Desktop app, or mobile devices using the Zoho Meeting iOS and Android apps.
Students can join a class in different ways.
A Join link : Your teacher sends you the link.
A meeting key : Your teacher sends or tells you the meeting key.
An email invite : Your teacher sends you an invite.
How-to steps
Click the joining link of the meeting that you may have received via email, chat or SMS. You will be taken to the meeting.
If you have a meeting key, go to meet.zoho.com or open the Zoho Meeting Desktop app.
Enter your name, meeting key and password, then click Join meeting.
Select your audio and video devices:
Phone call: If you're using Zoho Audio, enter the dial-in number followed by conference code and pin. You can also use toll-free numbers if your teacher has made them available to you. If you're using a different phone conferencing system, use the details shared by the meeting host to dial into the meeting.
Computer audio: Select which audio device can be used for microphone and speakers, test your speakers and check sound level.
Click Join meeting.

How do I join a video meeting ?
You can transmit video using your web camera or other cameras connected to your computer during the session.
How-to transmit video
Enter your meeting window.
Select Computer audio as your audio option. Enable microphone and camera.
Select your camera in the video dropdown.
Start the meeting or webinar.
To change the layout, click Layout on the meeting controls and then select any of the video layouts (Tiled, Active Speaker, Sidebar).
To stop video transmission, click the video button below the video feed.

How to reply to a conversation?
If your teacher allows it, you can communicate with your class using your audio device or through in meeting chat functionality. If your teacher mutes you, you can unmute your microphone upon getting permission.

How do I use the chat feature ?
The meeting chat allows you to send chat messages to other students and teacher in a class.
Start the meeting and click Chat in the meeting toolbar at the bottom.
This will open the chat window. You can type a message into the chat box and hit enter to send it to all meeting participants.
Click more to send reply or react or to edit any messages.
After editing, you can enable the checkbox to notify others about the changes if needed.
If you receive new chat messages, you will get a sound notification and can see a red dot on the chat icon.

How to share a file ?
File transfer allows you to send files to the teacher during class.
How-to:
Start or join a meeting. Click Chat in the meeting toolbar.
Click Share File (attachment icon), choose a file to send and click the Share button. You can share files up to 1023 MB in size.
When the file is sent, everyone can preview and download the attachments to their computer or mobile device.
How to take class notes ?
Students can use the Meeting Notes feature to create notes of lectures during an online class. They can view the notes they create during other class sessions and even associate select notes together.
How-to
Start or join your meeting.
Click Notes on the top menu bar. This will bring up the Notes window, where you can take notes during the meeting.
Click more to add a new note.
To move the note to a specific notebook, click the Select Notebook option at the bottom of the notes window.
How to raise hand in online class?
Like in a physical classroom, students can raise their hands to get the attention of the teacher.

Unable to join class
If you are unable to join the class, it could be because you are unable to establish a connection with our servers. You can follow the steps in this article to resolve this issue. Please send an email to support@zohomeeting.com if the issue persists.
My audio/video isn't working

There is an echo in my class
Echo can be caused by many things, such as a students connected to the class audio on multiple devices or two students joined in the same room and so on. Learn about some of the possible causes why you can hear an audio echo or feedback during your classes.
Why can't I unmute my microphone?
Your computer OS settings might prevent Zoho Meeting from using the microphone. We will also notify the teacher under participant list if someone's microphone is muted in OS. Refer to this article to learn how you can unmute your device if this happens.
How to join classes on mobile devices ?
Students can join meetings using joining links or meeting keys shared by the teacher via email or messaging apps. When they click on the join link from their smartphone, it will be opened in the app if already available, or automatically prompt them to install the app and join, if the app is unavailable.
How to leave the class ?
To leave the class, click on the exit icon on the meeting controls at the bottom of your screen.
